Its time for another Stampin’ Royalty challenge. This time we have a sketch for you.

I created this card with one of my Nanna’s in mind. Both My Nannas are still alive and they are both turning 90 this year, its a big year!!!! One’s birthday is very soon and so I thought I would put together a card and a photoframe for her. Here is her card:

I hope you can play along with us this week

Ok back again, so soon I hear! :) One more catchup post for you. This time its this weeks JAI creation. We have a colour challenge for you this week and you can find all the details over at Just Add Ink. Its a great combo, I failed miserably at it though, I just wasnt feeling it the day I created this so it didnt turn out as I hoped. However if you pop over to JAI you can see all the Design Teams creations and they are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont forget to play along!

I am quickly jumping on here to play catch up with my posts. I fell behind this week and I am really sorry to everyone that reads my blogs as well as the Design Teams I am on. ARGH!

LETS FLY AWAY

First of all I have my card for this weeks challenge at Stampin Royalty. This week its all about Adding Wings to your project….. A bird, A butterfly something to celebrate the start of Spring…..(in the US) :)

Isnt that Owl just the cutest?

I hope you like my little creation. :)

Yes you guessed it, I joined the wonderfully addictive world of Pintrest. Its great…now when I really have to get on with my day and I have no more excuses because facebook is boring me and all my emails are read…I can just go on Pintrest and Pin away for ages. :)

I love sayings, just love them, and Pintrest has sayings but with pretty pictures to go along with them, so I just have to read and pin and get inspired all the time. So I thought I would share a couple that I like with you today!

Lemon and Lavender: Weekend Round-up

They are just a few of my latest favourites. Good things to remember. :) Hope you are having a productive day, and if not join Pintrest, then you feel like you have been productive.

All of a sudden I have an obsession with Scrabble Tiles, I love everything I see with them and just want some to create all the wonderous things I have thought up in my head. (so feel free; if you have any scrabble sets that are down a few tiles and ready for the bin, to pass the tiles on to me, I would love them, especially the wooden ones :) )

Anyway I am here to show you a page I just scrapped (like in the last 15 mins) I really wanted some scrabble tiles for digi scrapping, so did some googling and found some the other day and finally got the motivation up to actually play with them. :)

The other little thing I am in love with at the moment is photo walls….I used to dislike them with a passion but am growing used to the idea and keep planning one out….for when we move back to our own place that is. I am not sure that the company house would like a million hooks in one wall. :)

Have you seen all the lovely creations over at Unscripted this week? Very pretty and so many different takes on the sketch which is awesome.

This is my take. I made the embellishments more images and layered them to create this:

Both these images are from Mo Manning. They are so cute and I had a ball colouring them in the other day. When it came to put the card together for this sketch I just knew I had to use the two images together. I hope you like my little card, and that you can join in with the challenge over at Unscripted.

This is very late, but there have been a few hiccups with blogger and the Stampin Royalty blog this week so everytime I have popped here to post this the post on SR has been down so here I am now.

Just quickly as I am about to head out the door for tea. Check this out

I hope you like my creation and can hop past Stampin Royalty and join in the challenge this week.

Love!

This saying was floating around the world of Facebook yesterday….it popped up everywhere, maybe its because its so beautiful, or maybe its because all the people reposting it (like me) truly understood its meaning…. I thought I would share with you here.

”Love is not about finding the right person, it’s about creating the right relationship… it’s not about how much love you have in the beginning, but how much love you build till the end.”

Today I decided to make tea in the slowcooker…and this got me thinking about saving time, which got me posting it on Facebook and that got me thinking about blogging about how I save time in my day! I thought I would post a few things that I use to save time in my life. If you have any ideas, hints or tricks feel free to post them in the comments section…that would be awesome.

(These arent in any order, other than as I think of them)

  • Get up a little earlier. Even though most mornings I think I should just roll over and go back to sleep when Hubby says “Are you getting up?” (under my instruction of course) I still do it, and every morning at around 8am, when I am walking out the door to drop the kids at school I am so grateful. I make sure I do as much as I can, that way after the kids are at school I have so much more time to get stuff for me done, or to just spend time with Miss 2 rather than running around cleaning and doing odd jobs. Just think that the half an hour earlier (or whatever) that you get up wont make any difference to how you feel but will make a HUGE difference to how your day goes.
  • Do washing the night before. I know sounds silly, and I dont do it all the time. But when I know I have heaps I will chuck a load or two in before bed and that way first thing in the morning I can get a big load on the line. If you add in getting up earlier thats three loads you could have on the line before 8am. ;)
  • Fill the freezer. Everynow and then Hubby or I will make a big batch of sausage rolls or pasties and we make way more than we need and chuck them in the freezer. That way on super busy days there is always something for lunch or tea to get out. The other good things to freeze are things like cupcakes (for school lunches) icing, cookie dough or leftover dinners.
  • Use a slowcooker….if you havent got one of these you so should. We bought a big one a few years ago and I LOVE IT. How good is it to have tea going by lunch time and then you know all you have to deal with after school is making afternoon tea and you are done. Plus if you are going to have a day when you want to do otherstuff all day, like crafting ;) then you can still manage to have a yummy tea on the table at night and no one is the wiser that you have done stuff for yourself all day.
  • Make tidying up a game…..Do your kids hate to tidy? Mine do, and they have a lot of trouble staying on task with tidying up as they dont enjoy it. Every afternoon just before their Dad gets home from work they have to tidy the lounge room floor. Mainly as I dont want to have to do it after tea ;) So to keep them on task I give them a certain number of things they have to collect. Usually it depends on how messy the loungeroom is. Most days they have to pick up atleast 15 things each. If its not tidy enough I usually say “Now 8 more” They never like the idea of that. :)
  • Clean your bathroom while you are using it. I try and clean the bathroom the kids use while they are taking their bath. Otherwise I am just standing there wasting time. If I clean at the same time I get the kids through the bath and end up with a clean bathroom at the same time. I try and do this with my bathroom too, its not as easy though. I usually only manage to put things away while I brush my teeth, the rest has to wait.
  • Make afternoon tea school lunches. If I cook pancakes or cupcakes for the kids for afternoon tea I always try and have enough left over to be able to add them to the kids lunches the next day. Its one less thing to think about in the mornings and doesnt add any more work to what I am doing already.
  • Have a routine….not a Minute by Minute routine or anything that dramatic. But if you stick roughly the same routine it saves so much time in the end. Especially when you have kids. My kids know what the routine in the evenings is, so they are always ready for what comes next, its much easier for me to get them to do stuff when they know what is happening next to. It also works for me in the morning. If I know that when I get up I have a shower, put a load of washing on, make a coffee, clean the rabbit cage, sweep the floor and then make lunches…then everyday that gets quicker and quicker.
  • Do stuff while you are on the phone, its a great time to hang the washing, wash the dishes or sweep the floor…
  • Dont procrastinate…. Isnt it always the way that we have lots to do….so we dont get started because there is too much…..and before we know about it time is passing, there’s more to do and we still havent started on anything.
  • Enjoy your day….if you enjoy it you make the most of every minute….it saves the time you would spend stressing about silly things that you have to do every day.

Anyway thats my blah blah for today. Better go get started on….Oh no thats right tea is sorted…..Ahhh it feels good. :)

The sketch over at Unscripted is up and its a loooong one…. I saw it I loved and I used it. I was asked by a friend to make a Welcome to your new home card…. and this is what I came up with. I hope it suits the people she wants to give it to.

I like these little houses, but dont use them that much, they do come in handy for things like this though. I added the little clouds instead of a sentiment so that the lady can write whatever she likes inside. The trees are super cute too so had to add in a couple of them.

I am slowly getting back into the swing of this card stuff….. who knew that my holiday would destroy my mojo rather than get it going? oh well. I will get there….and my iPad blaring music at me seems to be helping….. I have found a love for James Blunt…I know. He is one of those singers that people either LOVE or HATE. However in my defence I am a “words” girl… I like songs for what they say and his songs have lots of great meaning. I also saw him on Top Gear (UK Version) a few months back and he is rather funny. You have to give a bloke credit when he can take the “mickey” out of himself. :) Anyway he has been blaring in my face and its helping, so in the end I dont really care!

Hope you can join in with Unscripted this week.
